CP6054 is on its way back to base in Lethbridge, AB on a late spring afternoon. This is one of those rare occasions where a caboose is bringing up the rear of the flatbed car train. This crew, two in the locomotive and three in the caboose had been dropping off railway ties all day. The lake is the Columbia Reach on the southern end of Kinbasket Lake. The background mountains belong to the Blackwater Range of the Rocky Mountains. CPR refers to this section of track as "Beavermouth". This is where the Beaver River empties into the Columbia Reach, which is on the southern end of Kinbasket Lake. Re-acquired by CP in 1998, and restored by BC Rail in North Vancouver to operational condition between 1999-2001. #2816s tender came from Royal Hudson H1c #2822. CP 2816 is used for special runs. This is where the train crosses under Highway #3 before entering Sentinel on its way to Coleman, AB. The red locomotive, CP3131 is a last minute substitution for CP4101 which, according to one of the train personnel, "met an untimely death".
