Subject: I've returned to where I started and snapped this photo. Facing East, the line extends well beyond the trees in the background to Tillman Rd and points east. Between me and Tillman is nothing but a quary and the R-O-W is destroyed by quary activity.

Subject: This is at the other end of my flight. I'm overflying NS at CP Draw. Although you can't see it, this train is half on this side and half on the other side of the Buffalo River. CSX is also crossing at the same time buf out of view.

Subject: This was a great catch for I have not flown the "Tour of Buffalo" in a long time. I've seen a train or two on this line but never at this specific location on Robinson Rd in N. Tonawanda,NY. What must be frustrating to the drivers stopped at this crossing is that the train is not moving. The silver pickup truck at the corner of Robinson and River rd eventually turned around due to impatients.

Subject: This is the trackside view from the Clarion/Little Toby Rail-Trail in Ridgway, PA. I wasn't lucky enough to have good timing so I didn't catch any train traffic. I'll try it again another time.

Subject: Track side view of the PRR Depot in Ridgway, PA. There is a sign across the street that says this is a restaurant named,"The Pennsy Restaurant." The sign looks nearly new but I don't see any work being done to the actual structure. Nothing obvious anyways. If it does get the conversion, I'll be back.

Subject: Looking down the hallway of the PRR depot in Ridgway. I did not actually get into the depot. A panel on the door was missing and allowed me to stick my arm into the depot. So, I did just that with my camera and snapped these pictures. Sad to see. This is what the East Aurora, NY PRR depot looked like when we entered it to convert it to a restaurant.

Subject: This section is also closed off to motorized vehicles. In this area it is a little less taken over by growth. We begin to enter the cut. And this is the access point to Switchbacks 2&3.

Subject: I am now standing looking at the r-o-w at Junction Rd heading westerly towards switchbacks 2&3. SB #3 would be first from this direction. I am also standing on the spot I was about to be stuck in up to the frame of my car. It wasn't nice.

Subject: I took this a few hundred feet in. It's really beautiful to walk back here in the fall. I came upon a few large scrape marks in the ground [not in photo]. I didn't know if it was just a deer digging for something or maybe a bear. With all the bear attacks on the news, the saying in my head was,"If only I didn't go around the bend..." So, I stopped here and looked around, saw nothing, and then chickened out and returned to my car. If only....

Subject: A more upclose look at Switchback Rd. This is recently graveled making it easy to drive on. This goes for about 1 mile or so before bending to the right and leaving the r-o-w.

Subject: This is the B&S crossing Junction Rd. The road right in front of me curving to the right and up is Junction Rd. The other road in the shade is Switchback Rd or the r-o-w headed in an easterly direction with SB 4&5 a few miles away.

Subject: After riding the new rail to trail path in Lancaster, NY I stretched out my exploration east of Town Line Rd. This is the picture where the row crossed over Ellicott Creek near Wende Rd. Nothing but the concrete abutments remain. The creek is about 30 feet below.

The unconverted row is in good shape for the most part and looks as good as the B&S RR in PA shown below.

Subject: Due to this exploration being at the last minute, I didn't take the time to study the ROW between the two sets of Switch Backs. So I didn't really know where I'd end up if I kept going. After passing through the cut, [next picture] I turned around at the next wide area and headed back to PA44.

By the way, I got out of the car and walked the wide area to make sure I knew where solid ground was. I didn't want to roll down the hill like some of the steam locomotives did. I also didn't see any signs for tresspassing or private property.

Subject: This was my favorit part of this particular exploration. The cut with a tiny rock fall. There must be a lot of driving on this ROW because the ride through the cut was pretty smooth.
