From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Thu May 3 13:33:40 2007 Subject: This is another view of the Ethanol plant looking more northerly. Again the freight house of the Central terminal can be made out just barely in the upper right and just below the wing strut. It was a beautiful day for flying! image/jpeg, 1280x960 (24bit) 18-Ethanol_plant.jpg    238460 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Sun Aug 5 11:34:49 2007 Subject: A remaining tunnel of the BR&P east of Arcade and north of Farmerville Station. You'll notice that there are no car tracks going into the tunnel. That's because there is a solid layer of ice under the snow and we are stuck on a steep hill. It took a long half hour to back down the hill and not end up in the deep ditches on each side. This was in January of 2004. image/jpeg, 892x608 (24bit) BR_P1.jpg    103355 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Sun Aug 5 11:44:06 2007 Subject: After realizing we could not get the car up the hill any further, we decided to temporarily abandon the car and walk up the remainder of the hill and check out the tunnel. It was snowing heavily that day. image/jpeg, 889x601 (24bit) BR_P3.jpg    78763 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Thu Aug 9 10:26:46 2007 Subject: Not getting an ideal upclose look, it was difficult to tell how long this cross bar has been broken, not being able to see how much corrosion exists on the broken area. image/jpeg, 1280x960 (24bit) 3-Buf_River.jpg    108574 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Thu Aug 9 10:30:57 2007 Subject: This is a wider view underneath the Buffalo River crossing. You can see two plates that are either missing nuts or they are spun half-way off. We are looking south. CP Draw is to our right [west]. image/jpeg, 1280x960 (24bit) 2-Buf_River.jpg    172137 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Thu Aug 9 10:38:20 2007 Subject: For years I've been boating up the Buffalo River to check out rail traffic going across the river. It is a fasinating place to watch. I've always noticed that the River crossing bridge was either missing nuts or about to. After the MSP bridge collapse and a recent run up the river, I was more aware of the bridges condition and took some photos. This is an upclose photo of one plate/joint that has missing nuts. There are others sections on this bridge in similar condition. image/jpeg, 1280x960 (24bit) 1-Buf_River.jpg    97665 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Thu Aug 9 10:49:37 2007 Subject: This photo was taken January 2005 of the BR&P crossing at Springville,NY. This was a difficult bridge to photograph because it is blocked by trees everywhere as you can see. This is the best side view I could get with the sun lighting it up. I'm standing on the golf course. image/jpeg, 1280x960 (24bit) BR+P1.jpg    311576 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Thu Aug 9 10:55:54 2007 Subject: While cross country skiing in Janaury 2005, I took some photos of this BR&P bridge in Springville,NY. It was a tough bridge to photograph. Blocked by trees as you'll see in the next picture. The upper deck is covered with snow, I was tempted to ski accross it. But with not being able to see the deck and verify its condition, I didn't cross. image/jpeg, 960x1280 (24bit) BR+P3.jpg    285617 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Thu Aug 9 11:05:35 2007 Subject: This photo is at Letchworth State Park in NY on the former ERIE RR. Much discussion has been made about the condition and future of this Genesee River crossing. Photo taken in October of 2006. We are standing on the west side of the gorge. image/jpeg, 480x640 (24bit) DSC00950.jpg    68785 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Thu Aug 9 11:10:48 2007 Subject: A beautiful fall afternoon in Letchworth State Park. Although no one is allowed on the bridge, everyone was. Even as a NS train came through. He was going slow. It's hard to tell if he was going slow because of track conditions or because of all the people walking the bridge. image/jpeg, 640x480 (24bit) DSC00946.jpg    65390 bytes |

From: "Daniel Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Sun, 03 Feb 2008 22:28:09 -0500 Subject: This photo was taken while on the Amtrak Santa Train on December 2nd 2007. I knew the car would be in view but as luck would have it, an outbound train from the Frontier Yard got in the way. But, I was able to grab this picture because a flat car which was in-between two boxcars at the precise moment the Penn Central came into view. I didn't even wait for the auto-focus. It was strictly a point and shoot with only 1 second to get it. image/jpeg, 1280x960 (24bit) Penn_Central-12-2-07-ds.jpg    68633 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Mon Sep 17 20:15:35 2007 Subject: Today I was riding my bike down to the water front in Buffalo and decided to look for the PennCentral boxcar that is sitting behind Mills Welding along Broadway. I was looking for it along Old Broadway south of the CSX main and I couldn't find it. Coming home via Broadway I came across Greene St just to check it out and I accidently came across the boxcar. How appropriate that the street is named Greene and I found the PC car. The reason I couldn't find it before is that it is covered heavily with overgrowth on the opposite side. You can't see it until fall. image/jpeg, 1280x960 (24bit) 19-PennCentral_boxcar.jpg    247882 bytes |

From: "Dan Syrcher" sst703 -AT- verizon -DOT- net Date: Mon Sep 17 21:28:31 2007 Subject: After crossing Lake Erie from Sunset Bay and the lake getting rougher we decided to make call at Port Colborne. I was stunned to find this Norfolk Southern "rail ferry barge" docked in Canada. I arrived just after sunset and with elevators on both sides, Not the greatest lighting. This name of this vessel is the "Windsor". There are three sets of rails, all painted in white and can been seen clearly in this photo. I came upon this in August of 2007 and I haven't returned to see if it is still docked. image/jpeg, 1280x960 (24bit) 30-NSrr_Barge-ds-8-26.jpg    171570 bytes |
