Subject: It is with great misfortune that this picture came out lousy. They had stopped pulling on the boxcar to reposition the cranes so I wasn't paying attention. But I turned to look at it and realized it had started to fall from the bridge and immediately snapped the picture without waiting for the focus to line up. I guess it's better than nothing. It's not like I can ask them to repeat it.

So, this picture shows the car disengaged from the bridge and falling.

Subject: Mayville is out of view but is bottom and to the right. The Lake is on the left out of view. We are looking in a southerly direction. You can make out the right of way at bottom center of the picture and then bends up. If you follow a straight line from there you see a small lake near the upper center of the picture.

You can see the rr snaking around to the right of that "main rd" running through the center of the picture. The gorge is at the bottom of the picture.

Subject: This is just Lake Chautauqua while I'm headed back home via Dunkirk. The pollution layer was so thick that even at 4500 feet at Mayville I still couldn't see Lake Erie. It's the worst I've ever seen it. And no improvement over a year later.

Subject: I was flying to the south of the yards in Buffalo, NY. The altitude was 5500 feet above sealevel. The view is looking north, northwest. In the lower portion of the picture you can identify the Lehigh Valley wye that comes from the line along the NYS Thruway. You then can see the NS Bison Yard including the new section along with the ex-DL&W line exiting to the NW going over the CSX Frontier Yard to the top of the picture. The Central Terminal is to the far left but unfortunately it is just out of view. It was very bumpy flying today so I have no idea why the camera worked this time.

Subject: This is a look from above at the location of the new Ethanol Plant in Buffalo. The central cluster of elevators is where it will be. I don't know for certain which elevators will be used.

The Central Terminal can be located in the far upper left hand corner. New York Centrals elevator, Concrete Central, can be seen about middle right with the bridges crossing the Buffalo River to its left. LaFrarge is at the bottom just left of center.
