This bridge is the highest and longest of its type in the world. It measures 1839 meters long (1.14 miles) and sits 105 meters (344 feet) above the Oldman river bed. Construction began in 1907 and took 12,500 tonnes of steel. A CPR official stated that this bridge is good for another 100 years. This is an empty coal train heading for the coal mines near Sparwood, B.C. Another locomotive, CP9665, was the robot, bring up the rear of the consist. All three locomotives are AC4400CW's. This consist would have entered Canada from northern Idaho at Eastport; from there travelling on the Kingsgate Sub to Yahk, then the Moyie Sub to Cranbrook and the Cranbrook Sub to the Crowsnest Pass. This is one of the rare occasions where there are no CPR locomotives in the consist.
