Subject: New pipes for Southern 401's sanders were bent around the tires of another steamer on hand at the Monticello Railway Museum, Monticello IL on August 19, 2010. Snagging one end of the pipe in the brake rigging, two volunteers wrapped it around the driver tire, later cutting the ends to fit up with the descending pipe from the sand dome.

St. Louis, our standing train, waiting on a siding for clearance, was hit head-on by another train that split a snow-packed switch. We waited for the better part of a day for the crews to clear the resulting derailment and repair the tracks.
