In 1972 the CNJ started running the SE-98/ES-99 using the High Bridge Branch
as the connector between the CNJ main and the DL&W main at Chester Junction.
Shortly after this route started in use, the CNJ pulled out of their CRP
lines and retrenched back to NJ.

The EL route allowed them to still have access to Scranton without needing
the expense of their own line.
