Re: (erielack) EL "Canstock car"

The B&O Canstock cars had significant differences. They were 60' cars built
by P-S, with a capacity of 173,000lb, Lt Wt of 89,000lb for a gross weight
of approx 263,000lb, so they rode on 100 ton trucks with 36" wheels. These
EL cars were 50', built by FGEX, and rode on 70 ton trucks.

Hi folks,

In cleaning out the basement for layout prep, I've found some old photos I
took back in 1994 that shows an EL "Canstock" offset-door boxcar, as
discussed on this list many years ago.

It's a little worse for the wear, but still wearing its EL paint job (with
restencilled reporting marks). It's parked along the former EL Northern
Branch at Ridgefield, NJ in 1994.
