Anyone look at the annual savings in property taxes the EL saved by not accepting a deal that got them a new single track right of way along I-80?

It is often written that as the NE railroads began to falter the states and municipalities increased tax rates to suck off as much cash as possible before the bankruptcy proceedings were filed. Implications have always been that NJ was one of the worst.
