  Once again I would like to preface this with an apology if the subject of train accidents is not appropriate here, but I will be submitting a photo of the 1941 "milk train" accident to our local paper and in light of the recent discussion here about accuracy in reporting, I would like to throw out one/some of the many photos we have of the accident. If any list members would like to add to or correct what I have on file about this, I would welcome corrections. If this is not appropriate, kindly let me know.

I have a copy of an article (and many, many photos) about this 1941 accident at the Millburn NJ station, but the summary I found on file is as follows:

"Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad wreck Sunday evening August 17, 1941, at approximately 7:00 pm. Location was the east bound side of the Millburn station. The train was known as the Borden milk train, which contained six cars traveling from Port Murray NJ to Orange NJ to drop off seveal milk cars, then continue east to Newark NJ to drop off other cars. Fireman was killed trying to make up 40 minutes."
