Re: (erielack) Request for opinions concerning EL SD60M

Impressive!! Modern power wears the GMY well. I can picture a pair of those
starting out of Binghamton with a stack train, slowly gaining speed as they
roll across the Chenango River Bridge, heading out the west side toward West
BD...

In the same vein, the GE Genesis unit posted also looks good, though I'm not
sure I like the yellow wrapped around the nose. I wonder how that would look
in the U34CH scheme, with a train of Comets in tow, chugging through the
curves at Waldwick.

Metro North has obliged the New Haven and NYC fans-though I suspect Jack
Swanberg had some pull here-by painting a number of FL-9s in those schemes,
and now some "Gennies" in the NYNH&H scheme. I wonder what it would take to
talk them into painting a unit or two in EL colors. Yeah, I know, I'm
probably blaspheming by suggesting EL F40s, but if ConnDOT can paint a
rebuilt GP 40 in NH, why not. It's not inconceivable EL would have had some
modern day passenger power had they lasted this long. I'd contribute if it
was a case of someone putting up the money to buy paint.
