	The Erie did use flange oilers mounted to the engine
truck / lead wheels on some of the eastern steam
freight locomotives. I have copies of Erie maintenence
circulars on adjustment / cleaning procedures for them
though it does not list what engines / classes they
were equiped on.

	From the drawings in the cirrculars they would appear
in photographs as a rectangular piece of metal about
4" long and about 3" in width riding against the
flange of the wheel just above the truck frame. The
date on the cirrcular is dated May, 1931.ˇ
