Re: (erielack) Pascack Valley / NJ&NY name change?

Howard-

A ticket (Form 37) for the NJ & NY RR on Dec 17, 1936 has on its face
and bears the legend, "New Jersey & New York Railroad, Independently
Operated", but also bears an Erie logo. Another ticket (Form 15)
with no date bears the legend "New Jersey & New York Railroad,
Peter Duryee, Trustee"

On July 1, 1939, slightly before I was born, The NJ & NJ RR along
with it's parent, the Erie Railroad went into the hands of a receiver
(bankrupcy). By the end of 1939, all activity above the Woodbine
Yard was terminated (north, or westbound by timetable).

My references all come from the book "The Pascack Valley Line" by
Wilson E. Jones. He never does explain who the trustee was that
was appointed first. Was it Banta or Duryee? And whether or not
this was the same trustee for the Erie Railroad.
