(erielack) Franklin Freight Station near wye

Hello Listers,

When we first moved into our house in Franklin, someone pointed out the
house at 8 Wildcat and told me it used to be a railroad station. This
was around '94 or '95 and at that time the house did somewhat resemble
an old railroad station it had a flat roof and is located immediately
adjacent to the old ROW to the DLW 'wye'. The house has since been
renovated with an addition and a peak roof, siding, etc.

Does anyone have any information to either back up or refute this? I
fully realize that the DLW/NYSW station was located by Dixon Street and
Maple Street and that it burned down in 1958.

I was thinking that maybe it was an overflow depot for freight.

Thanks,

Dave Rutan
