The portion of the DL&W involved is only the section between the G&W
connection at Greigsville, and Mount Morris. Its a rather short section.
The rail was intact, and was previously used to connect with the G&W with
the D&MM.
At Mount Morris, the new spur to the salt mine cuts across the valley
eastward, and ducks under I-390.
The link below shows an ariel view of Mount Morris, looking south along
the DL&W. The new salt mine spur diverges to the left. The old DL&W
station can be seen on the right, next to the junction.

I wouldn't be surprised if the didn't pull up the DL&W south of there in
order to use the heavy rail on the new spur.
