The discussion regarding 4-8-4s reminded me of those designs that
Baldwin did for the Erie in the '20s or 30s for a 2-10-4 and 2-6-6-4,
printed in Stauffer's Erie Power. Did the DL&W consider modern
articulateds before going with FTs? Imagine something like an N&W Y-6
operating out of Scranton. But also imagine that Erie 2-6-6-4 storming
east out of Hornell with a solid block of yellow reefers, with the big
white diamond on its long tender. What might have been. Jim Gerofsky
