Subject: Intermodal train running through the no-whistle area of old Louisville on 4/24/06. Needless to say, the trains can no more than 25 MPH, but it allows for some great photos. CSX 5306, a General Electric ES44DC locomotives, leads the train.
CSX 5306 is powered by the Evolution Series standard DC-driven 12 cylinder GEVO 4,400hp engine, and a reduction in emissions allows them to comply with the EPA's Tier II emissions rules, which went into effect in 2005. The 12 cylinder design also requires less fuel than previous models, allowing foradditional cost savings. The second unit was GATX 5359, SD 40-2. Some pictures of the intermodal units are also included.

Subject: RJ Corman had a train running along West Bound on the main that runs from Cincinnati & Louisville on 4/24/06. They had 2 units pulling a unit train into downtown Louisville, with a final destination of CSX's Osborne Yard in Southern Louisville. RJ Corman's 5409, a SD40T-2 which was purchased from D&RGW, leads 3944, a SD40-2, which was purchased from Union Pacific. One thing that RJ Corman is known for are very clean engines and cars.

Subject: Here we see CSX 7662 (GE CW40-8) leading a long string of engines and freight heading north from Osborne Yard in Louisville, KY towards Cincinnati, OH. The 2nd unit was CN 6139 (EMD SD40-2), followed by CSX 7385 (GE CW40-8), CSX 7849 (GE CW40-8), CSX 5295 (GE ES44DC), and Ex-Conrail, now CSXT 7493 (GE C40-8). More than enough power for their trip, so CSX must be needing some engines somewhere further east.
