Re: (rshsdepot) Question about L.I. Depot in Long Island City



Long Island City depot at 34th Street Ferry burned down, was it 1924? or was
that when the ferry stopped...

now it is just platforms, there is the air duct for the Midtown Tunnel next
to it...Hunterspoint Avenue is also just platforms, I don't know if this
ever had a station building...

Others probably know more than I about LIC LIRR..they have high level
platforms now I think, that may be new, I remember low platforms....

This area reminds me a bit of the SP/Caltrans area near Townsend  & 3rd in
San Francisco, actually for a while now a block south..., but I mean where
the track action is..
