rshsdepot
Seth,

The 180 Street Station was built in 1911 as were most of the other stations
on the line. It began operstions in 1912 and ended 12-31-37 with last train
pulling into Harlem River Yard a few minutes past New Year's 1938. for the
last time.

Last station in the Bronx is Dyre Avenue and a few blocks north is the first
Westchester County station KINGSBRIDGE ROAD which still stands today unused.

A two-mile segment of the ROW in Heathcote section of Westchester County is
a roadway that passes the former station above now used by ambulance corps.
There also was the roads only electrifed industry siding west of the
station. It is not known what industry was there and how long a track it
was,

Had WW-1 not happened th NH would have completed electrification between New
Haven and Boston which also would have been used by the NYW&B to Boston and
their proposed Westchester Northern RR north of White Plains to Danbury
would also have been completed. Westchester Mall occupies the site of the
former NYWB White Plains station and mall has a glass enclosed display case
showing a model of an NYWB Stillwell MU, Pictures and a REAL NYW&B rail
contractors found when they were building the mall.
