Re: (erielack) Del Water Gap domes in the gap.

Actually it strikes me as beyond wierd the way this equipment has travelled around with me and beyond when the old Auto-Train ended. I think most of u on the list have seen my posts about ex-ERIE/EL 621 winding up in Sanford as the first yard engine in the EL GMY colors. but what struck me as REALLY wierd was a foto of it couple to a UP sleeper in track 1 inthe AT yard. I don't think I have a foto of her coupled to a UP domecar. I didn't know the domecars would clear the catenary. Even the PRR was wary ot this.......too bad we never ran any n 1&2 or 5&6 THAT WOULD HAVE REALLY BEEN A VIEW. Usually reserved for those of us in the cab (of course that's how the dome idea started.

That's interesting, I was in this very same car (NYS&W 509, aka "The
Popemobile") on an NYS&W excursion in the early 1990s under catenary in
Hoboken (NJT approved its presence under the wires). So it *IS* possible,
perhaps the DL&W was just paranoid?
