Re: (erielack) Route of the "Cleveland Lake Cities"

Naaah, the 'P' Co. had a station on the lakefront......they went their own
merry way. I never took a train there, but while in the USAF passed thru CUT
several times in the mid-50s. There was a Harvey House restaurant in the
terminal - probly the farthest East that Company ever got. I'd always select RR
travel when duty took me anywhere. One time in 1958 I was at Wright-Patterson
AFB in Dayton and used the B&O line to Toledo. Train pulled in behind a
beautiful 4-8-2 and departing Dayton, the engineer let er rip. I went & opened a
top half of a vestibule door & just listened for quite a while as he covered the
flat farmlands across Ohio. What a trip!!

Is this where Cleveland's Union Station was? Wasn't it so, that the
Pennsylvania Railroad shared that station with the Erie? Lance

here MP 0.00 started.

iver Bed to West End Tower was dispatched by a Yard Dispatcher, actually

he balance of the line from West End Tower east was dispatched by the
