(erielack) Turning the calendar...

A little early, but it's a holiday weekend, so....

The September EL calendar photo shows a classic "Port Jervis" consist of
a pair of E8s (822 and 824, the latter with its sides suffering from
major paint fade) and a string of multi-hued Stillwell coaches. Note
the 822's Farr-Aire grilles, compared to the rest of the E8 fleet's
horizontal-slat grilles (as on the trailing 824).

Note the first coach is one of the rare solid green "ERIE LACKAWANNA"
letterboard cars!

The train is rolling towards Tuxedo, NY. Interesting details abound with
the right of way - the siding in the foreground (anyone know what this
might be? A team track or two?), the "muddy-sided' rails on the main
adjacent to the train, and the classic yellow Erie "SLOW" sign for the
distant curve. The pole propping up the telegraph pole at the right is
an interesting detail as well.
