  I was on the trip as well and we had a fire on one of the F3 units and that delayed us for some time. We had F3's and a passenger GP7 for power.

I remember that trip. It was billed as the last run of the Trainmasters
but 
none had been on the east end for a long time. My friend, Perry
Billington, had 
his dad, a DL&W Trainman working passenger service to Binghamton,
keeping an 
eye out for them as two were reportedly going to be worked east for the
trip. 
When they failed to appear, Perry and I went to Hoboken that morning and
took 
slides but elected not to ride. As I recall, the trip never made it to 
Northumberland due to delays.
