Does anyone know if this the one that matches the DL&W "Julia Ward Howe" or "Virginia Dare"? No one has turned up a photo of either in DL&W service as yet. Based on the feedback thus far, it appears as though both may have been repainted in GMY about the time of the introduction of the LW equipment in 1949. Does any one know for sure? What trains were these used on? Bill I think you already got and answer on this, but I'll reiterate that on my 9/26/54 roster both Parlor cars Julia Ward Howe, and Virginia Dare were listed as being in the stripped scheme, with two vestibules, two lavatory's, ice cooled, a capacity of 33 in chairs, length over buffers of 83' 6" The two Parlor -Lounge cars Princess Joan, and Margaret were still green, with only one vestibule, ice cooled with a capacity of 40 in chairs, length over buffers of 83' 0" Sorry for the late response.
