Well, I stand corrected. Since the agreement does defy logic, I wonder what the Erie folks were thinking. That's what you call a bad trade. They didn't have much to show for it once MM closed. Was it an ego thing, perhaps?

What's been posted is essentially true -

Erie wanted to switch Moon Mills and swapped the D&H for trackage rights 
with the LV between Owego and Binghamton - which continued long after the 
mill closed.
