    I caught the semaphore mileage clue too,  but read it as
    3?2.1  with the ? apearing wider than the 1. maybe a 6 or 9 . Looking at 
my 1953 Official Guide, Addison is 302.3 and the distance to the station 
looks about right for the difference.
    http://ny.existingstations.com/  has a photo of Addison posted - looks 
like it could be a match.
