Myself, I am 38, but grew up around steam
excursion locomotives and have the pleasure of working
on them now. My interest in the Erie stems from being
at Chalie Flestead's house as a kid every Saturday and
seeing his and Paul Slager, Milt Nafus and others Erie
Steam and deisel pictures and thinking those Erie
Heavy Pacifics were the cats meow. That and always
hearing "That row of trees is where the Erie used to
be' or we just crossed over the old Erie" I did see
some Erie Lackawana / Conrail before it was gone it
really didn't interest me at all. And still doesn't
,as does most modern railroading other than the stuff
I need to know. Later on, I became a bigger fan
knowing the corporate and locomotive development
history of The AMC and Woodruff and Bernett. I've
sent Erie Styling diagrams out to Portland and got a
response that Doyle has put a lock on the paint
cabinet.

Shot a couple of weeks back working on getting the
closest thing to an Erie engine going.
