RE: (erielack) gasoline

My Dad worked at a little Gulf Distribution site on Sanderson Ave in
Scranton and the D&H not only supplied small tank cars of fuel but also
shipped oil drums and boxed oil in boxcars.

How was gasoline supplied to Scranton and Binghamton during the steam era?

I always thought the tank cars seen mid train in trains with many reefers
contained petroleum products for customers on the southern tier.
