Mr. Lincoln rode the Erie from Dunkirk eastward on his way to the Cooper Union speech, having come in from the west on the LS&MS. That was still a very active interchange and transfer point in those days. I have seen multiple references to this trip over the Allegany Division (then known as the Western Division) and have an article about it somewhere. WDB ------------------------------
