At first glance, the aisle side of the modernized Erie diner looks like a coach, with lots of "picture" windows.  The giveaways are the spacing of the last four on the right end of the side, the lack of small washroom windows, and the lack of vestibules -- although there is a small service door at the right end.

The car is either a diner or a coach -- it can't be both.  Unless it is 2997 or 2998, coaches converted to buffet/coach/parlor whatevers (they varied) with small kitchen windows (2) at the right end.

A car number is the only sure ID.

The car at Cooperstown Jct. is a former Erie coach, not diner (EL 1000-series). I thought these were heavyweights, were they not? These got the turtleback roof treatment for "streamlining" (like Diner 741)
