(erielack) New Books of Interest

Folks,

Just returned from Caboose Hobbies with two new books in hand with interest
to Erie, DL&W and EL enthusiasts:

"Railway Prototype Cyclopedia, Volume #8" - Excellent series featuring
in-depth prototype articles.  This edition has a section on postwar 40 foot,
10 foot inside height AAR box cars.  It has a page on the DL&W series
#52500-52999 with a builder's photo of #52831 with the "Route of Phoebe
Snow" slogan and an in-service view of #52762 cira 1958 without the "Phoebe
Snow" slogan.  Other articles are BX Express Box Cars, VO-1000 Diesel
Switchers and AAR Twin Offset Hoppers (Part 4).

"Trackside around Sayre-Towanda-Waverly" (Morning Sun) - Focus is on the
Lehigh Valley, but has a section on the Erie (15 pages), DL&W (11 pages) and
EL (5 pages).  Some really nice shots of DL&W passenger F-3s, E-8s and an
F-7 in the original freight livery.  The book also includes some PRR steam
photos.
