       From what I understand ALCO had trouble with their wiring. They used 
aluminum wiring that caused some problems. EL may have bought 636's if they 
new there would  be no maint. problems. One thing to consider as well is 
that, I've heard that ALCO"s 6 wheel truck didn't track all that well.
