On March 38, 1935 about a mile north of Homer, NY a DL&W passenger train
struck a cow and derailed four cars. Two passengers were killed, one
instantly when a seat broke loose, fatally injuring her. A gentleman was
severely injured and died at the scene. The man's body was sent home,
Syracuse area. The woman was buried adjacent to the tracks.
I wonder if a crew that works/worked on the Syracuse branch has seen a trace
of this. Also wonder how common this was, a burial right beside the
railroad when an accident happend.
