Hi Bob,
Although a little tedious, I have used Woodland Scenics yellow stripe set.
They are rub-ons, but I carefully peel them from their backing with a new
X-acto blade and then place them on the car. I use a little decal setting
solution
(Micro-Set) to soften them up and adjust them. From this point they behave
like
decals so the less adjustment the better. After they are sitting in place I
brush a little decal solvent on them and let them dry. They can then be
sprayed with Dull-Cote or another clear coat. I did 4 N-scale heavyweights
like this and decided that I would buy the Con-Cor cars, no matter how "pink"
they were!!
I also used these stripes for road lines with good results.
I think Micro-Scale also makes stripe sets in yellow.
