   The Western N.Y. and Pennsylvania, a subsidiary of the Livonia, Avon 
& Lakeville, has started initial work on restoring the 63 miles of 
former E-L mainline out of service for nearly a decade, between Hornell 
and Olean. The company already operates the line west of Olean to Corry,

Pa. There has been some brush cutting, and a major washout at Belmont is

slated to be repaired.
