(erielack) Flange oilers

The EL had one in Wellsville. Just south of the State St. crossing just
before the beginning of a SE curve and the through deck bridge that crossed
Dyke's Creek by the downtown Air Preheater plant (i.e. oiler first, then
curve, cross bridge(which might be curved), then plant). My sense is that
this was put into place by the Erie ( large steam locos, curve was
superelevated until either late 50's or early 60's (anyone out there know
when the superelevation was removed on the Allegany Div? Erie or EL years?))
and not put there by the EL.

What's interesting is that the EL removed it in the early 70's. Then CR put
it back in during the late 70's / early 80's. Maybe due to financial
considerations post Hurricane Agnes?

Regards,

Chris
