RE: (erielack) Trainmasters and paint schemes...

Joe Jordan states:

> Trainmasters came in three schemes for the EL:

Well.... Not "Exactly."

To wit:

1) DL&W scheme with smaller "LACKAWANNA" letters
(http://gelwood.railfan.net/loco/dlw851.jpg)
2) DL&W scheme with wide extended Roman "LACKAWANNA" lettering
(http://gelwood.railfan.net/loco/dlw1854.jpg)
3) EL black/yellow paint
4) EL black/yellow paint with a solid yellow end on the long-hood end (on
the1860, look closely: http://gelwood.railfan.net/loco/el1860n.jpg)
5) EL "transition" paint scheme with DL&W-style striping and EL
logos/lettering (http://gelwood.railfan.net/loco/el1860na.jpg)
6) EL gray/maroon/yellow with maroon Gothic lettering below the walkway
(kinda like a cross with the DL&W scheme)
7) EL GMY with the narrower maroon stripe
(http://gelwood.railfan.net/loco/el1857n.jpg)
8) EL GMY with the WIDE maroon stripe
(http://gelwood.railfan.net/loco/1861b.jpg)

A good photo to show 7 & 8 is this one by George Elwood:

Note the top of the rear unit's stripe goes almost to the middle of the cab
window, whereas the unit in the foreground only goes to the bottom of the
window. There were multiple examples of each scheme.
