(erielack) Erie/C & O through Griffith , IN

	Hi All

This is in response to a Email conversation I was
having with someone from the board about a picture
taken at Griffith , IN. as I lost your Email address I
send this Info to everyone.

I was partially wrong in my statement about the C & O
having trackage rights on the Erie through Griffith.
The layout from the track blueprints and the
Agreements books I have state ( after actually looking
it up instead of going by memory) that the Erie owned
the north ( Westbound ) track through Griffith and the
C& O owned the south ( eastbound ) track. Both
railroads were SINGLE track from Mile post 240.83 to
249.87 from either end with each railroad paying a
wheelage rate to each other for the direction they
were going. And to even out a differential in
directional movments the C & O was 100 % responsible
for costs of maintaining the crossovers in griffith
with the new agreement starting 1939 and as of when
this document was typed as of 1959!

Sorry for my mistake and this should teach me to look
it up before emailing any other questions I will be
happy to look up and see if I have answers to.

Rich A Young
