Matt & all,
After looking at some photo's I found DL&W wood caboose 701 riding on
milk car style trucks on page 50 of "Cabins Crummies & Hacks Vol 1 NE". The
caboose is sitting in front of the coal dock in Scranton PA. Its a color
shot and the 701 looks well worn so it may be post merger, Did EL ever use
Lackawanna wood caboose's in any service?
Thanks for the information but I am guessing the proper "Milk Car" trucks
are not available in HO, They have a unique heavy arch on the upper part of
the truck not common to any other road. It looks like B&M may have had a
couple of hacks with this style truck also but very uncommon.

Todd,
Lackawanna didn't use any of the Erie's General Steel Castings "milk car"
trucks on their cabooses. The DL&W hacks rode on Bettendorf "T" section as
well as double truss. Post merger the EL did apply a set of these trucks to
a Lackawanna steel car, quite possibly 896, but they were NOT original
equipment. Additionally, the Erie/EL was famous for reusing trucks from old
equipment on new as in the case of applying old milkcar trucks to the C-100
series. I would guess that the C-300 and here sisters were riding on used
/reconditioned trucks rather than new ones.
