(erielack) Doings around Scranton

List-goers:
Just got back home from a great day of wandering around the Scranton
area. The Steamtown excursions started this weekend and the 3217 is
back in charge of the trains. Unfortunately they were only pulling 6
cars and putting on less of a show, but it was still nice to see steam
for the first time since October. The fun began when a CP Rail gran
train pulled into Scranton. Had to head over to Nay Aug to catch that
one. After meeting the excursion at the platform the 2 CP Rail SD's
started for the Pocono's. There was no mistaking when they popped out
of the Nay Aug tunnel, as the sound of those engines working was quite
impressive. After they made their way across the Myrtle Street crossing
I headed for Moscow. 30 minutes later they were heading through the
area with a little more speed, still working hard. Last stop was at the
Pocono Summit station. The engines easing their train down the grade
through the miniscule town center was a nice sight to see. I am glad I
have finally caught a grain train, and look forward to seeing more of
this service in the future.

Regards
Scott
