(erielack) Binghamton equipment to move soon

Anyone planning to get pictures of the rail equipment in Binghamton
should do so right away, as it will all be removed very soon, one way or
another.

Adam Weitsman, the "new" owner of the DL&W station (and scrap metal
dealer) has indicated that he wants all the rail equipment out of there
by the end of this week, (a date that all involved will not be able to
meet.)

Don't know all the details of what's being done there yet, something
about the city wanting that area cleaned up.

I called Weitsman's office last Thursday morning, they told me they want
everything out of Binghamton by Friday, May 28th, (a whole week of
official notification).

We had planned to remove the Stillwell in June, as the trucking company
had indicated a more open schedule as well as arrival of new equipment
to move railcars with. The Leatherstocking group had planned to remove
the caboose in early June, either the first or second week of the month.

The Erie boxcar and Camp car are owned by the station owner (Weitsman)
and face an uncertain fate as well. We are going to ask for the Camp car
in donation, but time will tell whether it will be saved or scrapped.
Don't know what will happen if there is no extension on the "deadline",
yet.....

Stay tuned, more to follow
