Don't screw the present riders to get new riders. The answer is more service, not
restructured service.

Mike,

I think you are correct here. Remember that these people from Stroudsburg (And
Scranton?) have already been on the train awhile when they reach Dover. IMHO, it
would be best for these trains to discharge only at Dover, Summit and Newark (to
connect with NYP, Gladstone or local stops) and deliver the remaining passengers
to Hoboken. These trains should not replace present Hoboken trains of which there
are few enough. The Pa. trains cannot get into NYP with the present saturation of
the NR tunnels so why not bring them into Hoboken on an express schedule east of
Dover?

Also, IMHO, If you are going to buy Genesis type engines (in whatever
configuration) put them on the Raritan Valley Line and run them into NYP. Those
poor people have been getting the shaft since the Aldene Connection was put in
back in 1968 (?).
