Never saw any E-L trains w/ milk jugs on the nose.
Shot a pix of a CSX unit at Minooka Jct. w/ a milk jug on the nose.  (1995?)
Shot a pix of a stalled PC train at Hyde Park. NY. w/ a broom on the nose.
The fireman used it to poke around in the engine room. 
Every time he did BIG!!!!!!!!!!! cloud of black smoke out the exhaust.
What ever he did, it didn't work...  other PC power pulled the whole train
away.
