From: jensd@cs.tu-berlin.de (Jens Dengler) Newsgroups: alt.binaries.pictures.misc Subject: M-Bahn.jpg {historical} Date: 29 Mar 1994 11:48:34 GMT The following picture is a historical shot of the MCV (Magnet Cushion Vehicle) Berlin M-Bahn build in the mid 80ies and tested in public use only 2 or 3 years from 88-90 (if memory serves me right). This is a picture from summer 1989 at Kemperplatz (near the Philharmonie, Chamber Music Hall, and National Gallery). (The summer before the wall opened.) It is historical because the M-Bahn was disassembled and removed after 1991 because a part of the M-Bahn line at Gleisdreieck was placed on a part of the Underground line U2 which was out of order during the division by the wall and which is now reopend since last year. It is an uncropped version from a photoCD 768x512 picture of a dia. There is one easy visible dirt stain in the middle of the upper left area which must have been included by the making of the photoCD. The PICT was converted to PPM and then compressed with JPEG with 90% quality. It comes in three parts. Enjoy!
