From: "Ted Lemen" hi_jeanx -AT- yahoo -DOT- com Date: Sun Sep 12 16:35:43 2010 Subject: Two of the heroes of the Southern Railway 2-8-0 No. 401 are Kent McClure (left) and Dave Marshall. When I asked Dave how the engine ran when he opened the throttle for the first time, he said it was like a Swiss watch, meaning it glided along with track without a sound. No clanking rods like regular engines. image/jpeg, 859x1257 (24bit) KentAndDave.jpg |
