The bridge and rail line between Lethbridge and Calgary were completed in 1911. The present steel structure replaced the wooden trestle in 1928. The more shallow wooden trestle on the south end (right side of photo) was filled in with earth dug by steam shovel and hauled by train loads and then dumped over the side.
