From: Class458 -AT- cs.com Date: Mon, 31 Dec 2001 01:12:19 EST Subject: Attached is a photo of Big Bertha (sometime refereed to as Big Emma) MR2290 (LMS 58100 from 1948) taken at Bromsgrove Station yard in 1919.
Delivered from MR Works at Derby a one off 0-10-0 specifically for banking Duties on the 1 in 37 Lickey Incline between Bromsgrove and Blackwell on the Main Line between Bristol and Birmingham. Withdrawn in 1958, the only surviving parts are the left hand cylinders at Derby Works.
Submitted by Alan Spencer, Fireman at Bromsgrove 1963-70, and taken by his grandfather at Bromsgrove station in 1919 only days after delivery as a glass slide. image/jpeg, 564x388 (24bit)
