Subject: A DXH and a DXB with a empty coal train on the Cascade Bridge at Cascade in the Buller Gorge south of Westport. More than 6000HP, these two loco's, based on the USA U26C I beleive, will be working hard when they come back loaded especially if it is wet, the computerized wheelslip and traction controls will be working overtime with about 2200T. Lead loco is still painted in the last colours of the old owner TranzRail while the assisting DXB is in the Skippy colours of new owners, TollRail. This area is un-accessible to the public, very dense bush and a area that demands a degree of respect especially in bad weather when heavy rain can wash out the track or cause mudslides, in places, there is nothing between the rail line and the river below.
