From: "John Walker" jwdelta1 -AT- bellsouth -DOT- net Date: Sun Jul 9 23:08:46 2006 Subject: CN 5815, a GP 38-2, heads off the Bogalusa, La. to Wanilla, Miss. main to switch cars at the Georgia Pacific mill located on the Pearl River at Ferguson, Miss. The daily (7 days) train leaves Bogalusa and the Temple-Inland facility around 7 a.m. daily and arrives at Wanilla about 11. The cars are switched at G-P and empties picked up at Wanilla and the train heads south by 1, returning to Bogalusa about 5. The Bogalusa line is the former New Orleans & Great Northern line and was also home to GM&O's Rebels. The Freedom Train travelled the route from Jackson to Wanilla to Bogalusa and New Orleans in 1947. The line is removed north of Wanilla and just east of the G-P facility. To the west, the line goes to Brookhaven where it connects with the CN-IC main.
