CPR refers to this section of track as "Beavermouth". This is where the Beaver River empties into the Columbia Reach, which is on the southern end of Kinbasket Lake. The silhouette of this AC4400CW is impressive. CP9829 is leading this three locomotive consist, two pulling, one pushing (see following photo), a unit coal train, heading west into the Rogers Pass. The lake is the Columbia Reach, on the southern end of Kinbasket Lake. The background mountains belong to the Dogtooth Range of the Purcell Mountains in the Rocky Mountains. On the point is CP5999, followed by CP5871, CP5761, CP9023, CP3069 and CP3095. All are SD40-2's except for CP9023 which is an SD40-2F. The bright reflection on the front of CP5999 is packed snow.
